There are certain activities, people and things that drain our energy.
Using the physical, emotional and mental frames of our life,
ask yourself,
what drains my energy?
Step 1
Make a list of:
1. What physically drains your energy?
are there things you do or actions, activities, habitual movements, any physical, somatic (body) related things that zap you of energy, things you physically do that leave you feeling drained?
2. What emotionally drains your energy?
are there situations, people, open loops, or feelings that pop up and leave you feeling tired, overwhelmed, upset or weary?
3. What mentally or psychologically drains your energy?
are there thoughts, considerations, patterns that reoccur, systems that don’t work for you, or systems that need to be activated? Anything in the mental brain based areas in your life that drain you?
Step 2
Once you have your list, go over the list and prioritise them using the 80/20 principle. (choose the 20 that will make the biggest difference) What are the 20% of these energy drainers that take most of your energy?
Step 3
Once you have defined this, what actions can you take?
Can you let some of them go?
Can you change something physical that will remove the drain?
Can you manage something emotionally that will eleviate the drain?
Can you reframe something mentally that will change how you think about the drain?
Aim to move forward on one key thing at a time to get rid of the energy blocking thing, and unleash the energy towards your higher priorities.
