‘The way of perpetual physical and mental growth”

Drawing from ancient traditions and modern innovations, my aim is to cut through the noise to the essence of incredibly useful, and highly effective practices.

Your foundations – a personal practice

A personal daily practice is your foundational key to living a fulfilling, healthy life.

My first introduction to daily practice came from my Nan.

As a young teenager, my parents divorced and I internalised all my emotions and frustrations. I began suffering from tension headaches, bursts of anger, feelings of isolation, depression, insomnia, and other health problems were on the increase.

I recall my Nan telling me she had an exercise that, if I chose to learn it, then practice it a few times, would allow me to sleep easily, and never have insomnia again. After diligently practicing for a few months, it worked, and I have been using it ever since. You can learn this practice here.

To me Kung Fu truly is a holistic practice, once you surrender your ego to the practice you become the art.

Kung Fu, as I know it, has nothing to do with fighting, and everything to do with perpetual personal growth. As you grow your mind, body, heart and spirit, so your life becomes more fully filled with richness, passion, health and clarity.

Building your daily practice

Beginning your day and ending it with a 2 minute practice, experiencing your breath, developing your body awareness and stilling your mind is a simple way to bring the power of daily practice into your life. Investing just 2 minutes before you get out of bed after waking, and 2 minutes as you get into bed before sleeping, very quickly adds up to (compounding) a deep growth practice. I urge you to start this now. Find out more about how to begin, grow and perpetually refine this here.

‘We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.’- Aristotle

Carving out time to expand on, and sculpt, an authentic and deeply personalised practice for your specific needs, is where your life will level up at an exponential rate.

Owning, accepting and attending to your vulnerabilities, whilst pushing forward with your full potentials, dreams and desires, becomes your ‘ground for growth’. Find out more about how you can speed up your development through stages of growth using this hierarchy of needs framework.

My vision with gongfu.ie is to create pathways for you to start, nurture, and grow your personal life practice, and get really specific so that you not only fulfill your needs, you also break through to a purpose driven life with passion, perpetually growing and impacting those around you.
